Eliza Northropis an Associate in the International Climate Action Initiative at World Resources Institute (WRI). She is an international environmental lawyer with expertise in climate change, indigenous rights and governance. Her work focuses primarily on international climate law and policy issues, in particular the design and implementation of the Paris Agreement. In the lead up to COP21 last year, Eliza worked with a number of developing countries including Uganda and Ethiopia, to develop and communicate their intended nationally determined contributions. Prior to joining WRI, Eliza has acted as a legal advisor to the Kingdom of Tonga for the United Nations General Assembly, and was originally a negotiator and policy advisor for the resolution of native title in Australia.
